American Chamber of Commerce Pinpoints Delays In Japan’s Medical Device Commercialization
Targeting approved products in Japan from April 2005 to March 2008, the ACCJ survey found that Japan lags behind the U.S. by 35 months in commercializing advanced medical devices and 43 months in regular medical devices. Currently, 36 percent of medical devices used in the U.S. are not approved in Japan. ACCJ Chair of Medical Device and Diagnostic Huiming Wang proposed to separate new products review teams from generics team to speed up the approval process. (Click here for more - Japanese language)
