St. Jude Medical To Launch "Confirm" Implantable Cardiac Monitor
Firm plans an October launch of its Confirm implantable cardiac monitor, which received 510(k) clearance on Sept. 11. About the size of a typical "computer thumb drive" and implanted under the skin in the upper chest, the device allows physicians to evaluate heart rhythm over a longer period of time than standard tests, the firm says. Patients can send the data remotely to their physicians when they experience symptoms.
