Baxter International Inc. and The Baxter International Foundation have committed $1 million to support disaster relief efforts in response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
The Baxter International Foundation has approved $350,000 in grants to support both immediate, acute-care and longer-term needs of the region. Additionally, The Baxter International Foundation is activating its Employee Disaster Relief Matching Gift Program that will match employee contributions on a dollar for dollar basis. Funds from this program will be donated to both The American Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund and CARE.
In addition, Baxter is collaborating closely with humanitarian aid partners, AmeriCares and Direct Relief International, to ensure that they have access to critical IV solutions, antibiotics and other vital drugs for the organizations’ relief efforts in the region.
